Rasmussen, Ralph Ivan |

On March 27th, 2005, Ralph Ivan Rasmussen, age 79, passed away in the Moose Jaw Union Hospital.
Ralph was born on May 11th, 1925 on a farm in the Big Beaver district of Saskatchewan. He lived all his life in the Big Beaver district and attended the Red Stone School. His passion was Hereford cattle, which he raised until retirement. He was well known in the Hereford world.
Ralph was also well known for his photography. He was noted for his photographs which he shared and displayed within the community and with his relatives.
Ralph was predeceased by his parents Bjarne and Charlotte Rasmussen, and one brother Laverne Rasmussen, left to cherish his memories are his sisters Edith Wright, Marjorie (John) MacDonald and Sylvia (Arny) Wagar and one brother Darrell (Shirley) Rasmussen; five nieces, ten nephews, twenty-two great-nieces and nephews as well as many friends.
Funeral Service was held at the Big Beaver Community Hall on Friday, April 1st, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. The Reverend Teresa Burnett-Cole officiated. Honorary Pallbearers were Darren Marshall, Ron & Gail Aust, Adeline Hovorka, Kenneth & Sheila Anderson, Raymond & Kaye Anderson, Allan & Shirley Anderson, George & Yvonne Gillies, Tyrus Nyhus, Roland Klasse, Paul Klasse, Charles & Marion Gillies and 'All the people of Big Beaver'.
Pallbearers were nephews Mark Wright, Randi Wright, Will Wagar, Greg Wagar, Barry Rasmussen and friend Marty Anderson. The Tribute was given by brother-in-law John MacDonald. The organist was Adeline Hovorka and a Special tribute composed and sung by nephew Mark Wright.
Donations in Memory of Ralph can be made to the Big Beaver Drop-In-Centre or to the Saskatchewan Heart & Stroke Foundation. Interment followed in the Big Beaver Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Ross Funeral Service, Assiniboia, Saskatchewan.

Maurice Henri Riviere was born January 24, 1947 in Radville, the oldest son of Paul and Andrea Riviere. He was predeceased by his father Paul, brother Roger, father-in-law Rudolph Bessette and brother-in-law Hector Bessette.
Maurice is survived by his loving wife Evelyn of 35 years, daughters Richelle (Carey) Carles, Radville, Sk; Nicole (Jeremy) Ebbett, Estevan, Sk; Linette (John) Waite, Calgary, Ab; and Jaclyn Riviere, Medicine Hat, AB. He is also survived by his grandchildren Lane, Austen and Carter Carles; Cadence Waite and Ashley Schroeder; his mother Andrea Riviere; brother Raymond (Noreen) Riviere; sisters Jeanette Gentili; Marcelle (Dean) Egland; mother-in-law Yvonne Bessette; sisters-in-law Terry Riviere; Irene (Tom) Pelkey; Dar-lene (Joe) Pavelich; Irene Bessette and numerous nieces and nephews.
Maurice was always so happy to see his grandchildren and loved it when they came for a visit or a combine ride with him. He was also anxiously awaiting the arrival of his new grandchild in June. Maurice's family was very special to him and he made sure to instill very strong family values to all of his children.
Maurice received his primary and secondary education in Radville and his post secondary education at the University of Saskatoon. He earned his Bachelor of Engineering degree with distinction in 1971. Following graduation he and Evelyn moved to Calgary where he began his work in the oil industry as a Production Engineer. They moved from Calgary to Fort St. John, B.C., and back to Calgary in 1975. Although his love of the oil industry was strong, the call of farming was even stronger and so in April of 1979 Maurice and Evelyn bought a farm in Radville (near where he grew up) where he lived until he passed away.
Maurice was a strong supporter of the Co-op System, the Canadian Wheat Board and the Credit Union System. He served on the Board of Directors for the Radville Credit Union for 22 years, a member of the Holy Family Parish Council for the Financial Committee, a member of the Association of Professional Engineers, a member of the Lacadia Community Club, and as a young boy was an active member of the 4-H Club.
Maurice was a quiet man of great faith, integrity, honesty and compassion. He believed in kindness towards his fellow man and always had time for lending a hand or having a visit. He will be missed very much by his family and anyone who knew him.
Maurice passed away on March 10, 2005 at 58 years of age. A Funeral Service was held at the Holy Family Church on Monday, March 14, 2005 with Father Prince Kurisinkal officiating. The active pallbearers were Paul Riviere, Robert Riviere, Eldon Daenckaert, Paul Mazenc, Raymond Barbarin and Louie DeRoose. Interment followed at Laurier Cemetery in Radville, Sk.
For friends so wishing donations in memory of Maurice may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Memorial Services for Kenneth Rosvold, late of Bengough, Sask., who passed away at the Bengough Health Centre on February 27th, 2005 at 10:00 p.m. were held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at Bengough, Sask. on Saturday, March 5th, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. Mr. Neal Palmer officiated. Interment took place in the Bengough Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Ross Funeral Service, Assiniboia, Sask.

Rubin, Louise Marian |

On Friday, May 6, 2005, Louise Marian Rubin, late of Weyburn, Sask. passed away at the Tatagwa View Long Term Care Facility, at the age of 75 years.
Louise was born at Weyburn, Sask. on June 9, 1929 to Violet and Levine Dahlin. She married Joseph Rubin on June 19, 1950 at Yakima, Washington, and together they raised six children on the Rubinridge family farm at Weyburn.
Louise dedicated herself to her family, friends and community in her special gracious style. She was a member of the Royal Purple and the C.W.L.
Louise will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Joe and her six children: Grant Rubin (Rena) of Weyburn, SK and his children, Sean and Justin; Laurette (Stan) Reimer of Crooked Creek, AB and their children, Wade (Kathryn) and Nikki; John (Paula) Rubin of Regina, SK and their children, Rebecca, Thomas and Caitlin; Rhonda Logel of Weyburn, SK and her children, Brian and Dale; Brenda (Ken) Freeman of Goodwater, SK and their children, Richard and JoAnna; Lisa (Darwin) Forbes of Saskatoon, SK and their children, Adam and Rachel; one great granddaughter, Brooke Reimer; brother, John (Ann) Dahlin; brothers-in-law, Mert Raine and Rene (Mildred) Rubin; sister-in-law, Helen Rubin; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She is predeceased by her parents, Levine and Violet Dahlin; infant son, Joseph Adrian Rubin; brothers, Edward, Art and Lloyd Dahlin and sisters, Marie Smith and Karen Raine.
Prayers were said Monday, May 9, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church.
The Funeral Mass was held Tuesday, May 10, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. from St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weyburn, Sask. with Father Gerry Bauche Celebrant. Interment followed in Green Acres Memorial Gardens, Weyburn, Sask.
Pallbearers were: Brian Logel, Dale Logel, Wade Reimer, Thomas Rubin, Richard Freeman and Sean Rubin. For friends so wishing, donations may be made in memory of Louise to the Tatagwa View Health Centre.
Arrangements were entrusted to Fletcher Funeral Chapels Ltd., Weyburn, Sask.

Evelyn Rychlo (nee Mastel) late of Regina, SK, and formerly of Bengough SK, passed away Saturday, May 29, 2004 at the Regina General Hospital at the age of 79 years, after a brief courageous battle with lung cancer with her family by her side.
Evelyn is predeceased by her loving husband of 42 years Ernie in 1988, her parents Ben and Katie Mastel, her father and mother-in-law, John and Josephine Rychlo and brother-in-law, Barnie.
She is survived by her 5 siblings, John (Delores) Mastel of Victoria, BC, Helen (Gordon) Riddell, Rose (Rolf) Starkebaum, Ray Mastel, all of Regina and Ron (Shirley) Mastel of Regina Beach; sister-in-law, Joan Rychlo of Saskatoon, plus numerous nephews and nieces.
Evy was raised in Regina where she worked at the General Hospital for 20 years, lastly in the admitting Dept., before moving to Bengough with her husband Ernie in 1968 where she worked as Matron for the newly opened Twilight Nursing Home for 21 years until her retirement in 1989. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends especially at family functions where her greatest enjoyment was spent singing in harmony with her sister Helen and her weekly Thursday bingo session with her two sisters.
Flowers most gratefully declined, donations may be made to a charity of ones choice. We wish to thank Dr. Duffy and the staff at the General Hospital for their care of Evy. A celebration of Evy's life will be held for family and friends at a later date. At Evelyn's request there will be no service.
