Krausher, Ariel Elizabeth

Ariel Elizabeth Krausher passed away unexpectedly and with dignity on June 5, 2005 at the Radville Marian Health Centre.

Ariel was predeceased by her parents Jim and Elizabeth McDermid, her brothers, Clifton and Bill and her sisters, Alma and Avice. She is survived by Adolph, her loving husband of 66 years and her son Garry as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ariel was born in 1911 on the family farm south west of Radville. She received her education at Great West School. When Ariel was 9 years old her parents and their family of 5 motored to Ontario in their Model T Ford Touring Car. This trip was one of the highlights of her life. On many occasions Ariel and her siblings spoke of the great time they had staying overnight in hay stacks and school houses, and the fun they had meeting their cousins and other relatives.

During the depression Ariel and Avice earned extra money by giving home perms to ladies around Radville and area. During this era there were many school and community dances and each one required a new dress or one that had been remodelled to look new. Therefore, a lot of sewing had to be done between dances as there was no money to buy new ones. It was after one of these dances that Ariel and Adolph met and soon love blossomed and they were married in Radville on October 26, 1938. The following spring they started farming on the Les Haden farm. Garry was born in 1942 and they purchased the Ray Toovey farm in 1948. These were good and productive years and in 1966 they built their retirement home in Radville.

In 1972 Adolph decided the cold winters weren't benefiting his asthma and they spent two winters in Florida. In 1974 they fully retired and purchased a winter home in Apache Junction, Arizona. Ariel was beginning to adjust to 'going south' and for some eighteen years they had great times in the Phoenix area with their many new friends and old ones from Canada.

Ariel was always a wonderful friend and neighbour and was always willing to help when and where needed. She loved visiting the sick and needy, usually with home made ginger snaps or other treats.

Ariel loved unconditionally and shared this love with Adolph for 66 years, with Garry from the day he was born, and with all those who were important to her. She left us suddenly with no goodbyes. All her life Ariel absolutely loved clocks but for her the clock of life had run down.

The clock of Life is wound but once and no one has the power, To tell just when the clock will stop at late or early hour.
To lose one's wealth is sad indeed To lose one's health is more, To lose one's soul is such a loss, as no one can restore.
The present only is our own, To attempt to do God's will, Tomorrow holds no promise, For the clock may then be still.

Funeral Services were held June 10, 2005 from the Radville United Church with Shelby Kinrade officiating, Norma Pastachak at the organ, the United Church Choir in attendance and special music by Gerry and Eart Howat of Prince Albert, SK.

Donations may be made in memory of Ariel to the M.S. Society or to a charity of the donors choice. Arrangements are entrusted to Fletcher Funeral Chapels Ltd. Weyburn and Radville, Saskatchewan.
